FAQs

How is the voting done?

Each category of the TOP80‘s list has different criteria that is presented to the jury before the voting process. The criteria changes as the industry develops. For example, ratings for culinary venues are based on the following criteria: Menu composition, food presentation, taste, balance of flavors and textures, value for money, beverage list, hygiene, service, and ambience.

The jury rates each venue on a scale of 1-100. The final vote is based on the top rating from the list of nominations gathered by members of the public. We encourage the jury to vote for the venues that they have visited in the last 12 months. The jury cannot vote for any venues that they have financial interest in.

How do we know these votes are genuine?

Our voting process is transparent and genuine. Members of the public are able to express their true opinions and dining experiences at the top-listed restaurants. Our jury panel is not published to assure anonymity. Our jury does not announce their visits and do not accept free meals or accommodations.

The TOP80 lists are mainly lists provided by a group of people based on their preference and experience of places they visited. If a restaurant is not included in the list, it does not diminishes their value. It simply means our public or jury either have not had personal experience there or did not share their experience of that venue with us.

Who are the TOP80 organizers?
