Cafe Cali at The Orient is a rooftop day club located on Jalan Sudirman street, offering a laidback Pan American cuisine that complements the city's 360-degree high-rise panorama. As the sole occupant of the boutique hotel's 32nd floor, Cafe Cali offers a panoramic view of the surrounding corporate landscape, with office buildings and passing cars appearing like mere ants. This exclusive sight of Jakarta is perfect for special occasions, impressing dates or potential business partners. The interior features whitewashed walls, stone floors, red tiles, and black steel frames, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Executives from nearby offices come for after-hour drinks, while the younger crowd opts for shorts and light tops to enjoy the city breeze. The laidback Pan American offerings are cooked by the kitchen crew, with executive chef Aditya Muskita and head chef Gerardo Milan. South American specialities on the menu are a credit to the latter, who moved into the country from Mexico 18 years ago. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including Spicy Buffalo Chicken Wings, Double Smash Cheeseburger, and Peruvian Ceviche. Desserts, including Cafe Tres Leches, are served with ice cream. The experience at Cafe Cali varies depending on where you sit, whether in the dining area, day beds by the poolside, or in the privacy of one of the cushioned gazebos. Some patrons prefer hanging by the bar with a simple cocktail of Whiskey Sour or a pick from the A to Z range of homemade gins.
