Akâr Dining, founded in 2020, is a Malaysian restaurant that pays homage to local terroir and offers modern interpretations of dishes. The restaurant features a theatre-like dining room with neat designs and an open kitchen where Chef Low and his team perform. The set menu is mostly informed by European cuisine, using local ingredients like gula apong and engkabang. The menu changes with the seasons and goes beyond typical Malaysian cooking. Akâr Dining offers an impressive Malaysia-inspired tasting menu, featuring eight courses with wine pairings, each with unique textures and flavors. The signature dish, Terroir, incorporates local herbs and vegetables, and desserts include a refreshing bunga kantan sorbet with yoghurt nitrogen crumbles and engkabang sugar wrapped in edible rice paper.
