This is what Thailand excels at and indeed we think (no bias of course!) no country in the world can match for local authentic dishes, drenched in history and tradition, AND hyper affordable. Que 'Jaab Ik Fresh Egg Noddle'. Now a second generation business headed by a son and daughter combination. Of course the 'secret' recipe remains 100% unchanged. Throw in the old wooden 'shop house', a 100 year-old market (in this case the Tharue Market in Ayudhaya, 90 minutes north of Bangkok) where all the local try their best to keep out the big chain stores, and you have one serious helping of genuine local cuisine. The fresh noodles are always made 'out back' by the family team. The taste? Expect soft and tender noodles and super fragrant dumplings sourced from a huge pot in the front of the store that has been simmering away forever (or so it seems).
