Six Senses is a sanctuary in Rajasthan that has been sensitively converted from a 14th-century fort to a sanctuary of well-being. The fort, originally owned by a Rajasthani Royal Family, faces the Chauth ka Barwara Mandir temple. The resort reinterprets the gracious and regal ambiance of a bygone era dating back 700 years. The historic fort is rewilded to restore the forest to the east and revive the sacred lake. The property is working with the local community to rewild the forests and revive the sacred lake. The resort features three restaurants, each designed in a contemporary Rajasthani style, and incorporates high tech and elegant artwork. The resort also incorporates Ayurveda and Western influences to enhance the pursuit of well-being. The fort and its neighboring Chauth ka Barwara temple have been home to many legends since the 1300s. Six Senses Fort Barwara is rewilding to remove invasive plants, replant endemic flora, and bring back birdlife, jackals, and leopards, vital for rebalancing ecology. The suites offer a private sanctuary with a view of the Barwara Heritage village or the Chauth ka Barwara Mandir temple.
