Balai Palma

Balai Palma, an artisan restaurant and private dining concept by du Gault et Millau-awarded chef Aaron Isip, is gaining popularity in Makati's Poblacion area. The restaurant, which serves traditional Filipino-inspired food, is located in a townhouse along Palma Street in trendy Poblacion. Chef Isip opened the restaurant in August 2022 and is open only for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. The tasting menu includes 16 dishes spread over eight courses, mostly seafood made with ingredients sourced from the local dampa market. The tasting menu costs PHP 7,500 per person and requires full payment in advance via bank transfer. Balai Palma is also unique due to its unique space, which is still the chef's home. Inspired by wabi-sabi, the restaurant is decorated with furniture, accessories, antiques, and carvings, many of which were collected during his travels or produced by local designers and craftsmen. Chef Isip has a refined eye and a highly developed palate, making Balai Palma a must-visit for food lovers in Makati's Poblacion area.
