Alchemy ORIGIN is a specialty cafe in Hong Kong that focuses on sharing the story behind each cup of coffee they serve. The company was founded in 2011 by a Belgian who wanted to share coffee and café culture with Hong Kong. They have since evolved through competition, participating in the development of bars in Hong Kong, and transforming the city's coffee scene alongside their partner cafes and restaurants. In 2016, Alchemy ORIGIN began their direct trade program with coffee producers, representing producers from around the world and brewing their local fruits. They have developed new coffees and processes with these producers, playing a supporting role in the achievement of the Cup of Excellence Award. Alchemy ORIGIN's selection of coffees is unique in Asia and thousands beyond, with most being purchased directly from award-winning producers worldwide. Quality is an indispensable precursor, but the company also supports the ethical and sustainable production of coffee through direct trade relationships. They are committed to environmental, social, and economic sustainability in the production of coffee at their farms. Alchemy ORIGIN travels to countries where coffee is grown to explore potential coffee producers. They look for coffee that brings the uniqueness of its country and farm, and they want to infuse coffee lovers with knowledge about the story behind every cup. Direct trade has been adopted, making the entire process more transparent from planning to serving to customers. In every Origin trip, Alchemy ORIGIN visits existing coffee farmers and explores more potential ones, making every step in coffee planting a significant difference in the taste of the coffee. They care not only about the quality of coffee but also its impact on the community and the environment.
